Humans

HumanHistory
The humans of Terra Belli live in the territory of Sapieto. Their land used to be centered at the south east part of the country. However after invading Calum they expanded upwards until they reached Alf Heim. When the Makoitsi sank and the Makoitsians were transformed by the Aboleths they sold a great part of their lower territory to the Catfolk whom they had been warring with. They also took part in a war against the Dwarves from both sides of Calum but, were save by the Sylphs and later returned the favor by saving them from the Vishkanyas. The humans are currently warring with the Dwarves of East Calum along with the Half-Orcs.
Territory
Their land consists mostly of rollling plains, and hills. Their land is rich and fertile, allowing the Humans to become one of the wealthiest countries second only to the elves and dwarves. Along with their large supply of resources they are adjacent to Alf Heim giving them very capable of trading with the Fairies, increasing their wealth even further.
Government
The Government of Sapieto is that of a democracy. One hundred men and women are elected every ten years to lead Sapieto. They possess complete power over state and military. On several occasions leaders have attempted to become dictators, in order to counter this all leaders sign a blood oath to serve the people and not themselves. Trying to break the oath leads to instant death. The populace is very divided on almost every subject, which can cause them to be indecisive, and gives them an excuse to fight with almost anyone at anytime.
Relationships
They do however have a neutral alliance with the elves, in which both sides have agreed to a non-aggression pact as long as neither enters the other’s territory.
This alliance has lasted as long as the war has been going on. Humans also have the only genuine alliance in Terra Belli which they formed with the Sylph after they them from the Dwarves and Humans saved the Sylphs from the Vishkanyas. They have fought with every other race at least once except the Gillmen and Sylphs.
